The Robyn Herbst Complementary Therapy Fund was started in honor of one of United Hospice of Rockland’s (UHR) most committed and long-time volunteers, Robyn Herbst. Robyn loves animals and with her dog, Piper, was an inaugural participant in our pet therapy program. Pet therapy is one of the several complementary therapy services offered to patients at UHR. Hospice care addresses the needs of the mind, body, and spirit. UHR believes that complementary therapies such as pet therapy, massage therapy, equine therapy and music therapy, play an important role in relieving stress, bringing comfort and connecting us all to our humanness.
In honor of Robyn’s long time service to UHR a fund was started by Robyn’s children to honor her legacy of giving care and bringing comfort to so many individuals and families facing serious illness in our community. The Robyn Herbst Complementary Therapy Fund ensures that we are able to continue to provide these warm and meaningful services to all of our patients at UHR free of charge.
