Medical Records Associate

Part-Time, Benefit-Eligible (30 hours Monday-Friday)

Flexible schedule available (11am-5pm or 12pm-6pm, etc.)

United Hospice is offering an exciting opportunity for a Medical Records Associate to join our talented team.  It is essential our employees have an understanding and commitment to hospice philosophy of care.  The successful candidate will have excellent verbal written and telephone communication skills, serving as the liaison between our patient referral sources and our Help Center (Intake RNs).  In this role will have a key role in organizing and expediting referrals as they come in, while also ensuring all critical information is included in the patient admission packet.  You must be proficient in Microsoft Office Software and adept at scanning confidential patient health related information into EMRs (Electronic Medical Records).  You will handle highly sensitive, confidential, patient information and will respect, understand and adhere to required HIPAA regulations. 


You must be highly organized with an exceptional eye for detail.   You converse with ease over the phone as you will provide backup when Intake RNs are unavailable to take referral calls, gathering crucial information for intake, and then clearly conveying this vital information to the Help Center Nurses for follow-through.   


While a direct report to our Office Manager, you will work in tandem with our Help Center Intake Nurses, often interfacing with our Community Outreach Liaison as well as our Medical Director.   You will serve as a first impression ambassador for United Hospice as the end-of-life care provider of choice within the health care community. You will carry out a broad range of administrative responsibilities to include back-up coverage for our front office reception as needed. 


This part-time benefit-eligible position offers salary based on years of full-time experience, with additional compensation for bi-lingual candidates.
