United Hospice has an incredible new opportunity for a Community Outreach Educator. We are seeking two professionals, one for Rockland and a second for Orange County to cover the respective areas by region. In this critical role, you will represent the heart of our strategic initiative as we reach out to our underserved Latino Communities to build trust, establish relationships, and create a pipeline of referrals, as we strive to break down traditional cultural and language barriers that prevent families from seeking and receiving Hospice services. You understand the Latino Community and you are passionate about education and adept at networking.
You will become a trusted advisor and ultimate liaison between our Latino communities and hospice services. Over time you will create a viable network of resources for our bilingual community members, patients and their families. You will provide exceptional follow-up on referrals, serving as a trustworthy guide to patients throughout the intake and service delivery process.
The successful candidate will have strong, well-rounded outreach experience. You must be an excellent communicator, adept at public speaking, and a skilled, active listener with relatable interpersonal skills. You will create and facilitate thoughtful, informative educational workshops, lectures and outreach activities designed to target our Hispanic communities about the positive benefits of Hospice and its plethora of services for patients and families.
You will hit the pavement with confidence, as you balance remote work in the community, with creating a regular schedule of presentations throughout the county. You will establish lasting, trusted relationships that ensure United Hospice become culturally relevant to our Latino communities. You will market hospice as the premier provider of bi-lingual, culturally sensitive, hospice services. You are highly organized. You will create a dashboard of goals and initiatives, tracking progress and follow-up. You are a confident, authentic and engaging public speaker. You are a fast learner, who will become the primary point person for hospice in its Hispanic initiatives as you seek and develop new partnerships with other community service providers that may be unfamiliar with our hospice services.

▪ Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Social Services or Healthcare field;
▪ Proficient in PowerPoint and Office Suite;
▪ Able to work evenings and weekends on occasion.
