United Hospice has a rewarding new opportunity for a full time Clinical Educator/Admissions RN to support our growing organization. As an established and highly regarded non-profit based in Rockland County, and now expanding services to Orange County, we have created a new position that serves as Clinical Educator who will on an as needed basis conduct Admissions for Hospice when we experience a surge in referrals. In the chief role as Clinical Educator, you provide training and orientation for clinical staff. You also participate in New Hire Orientation for both Administrative and Clinical new employees. You oversee the annual curriculum for RELIAS, our web-based training program.
You are adept at creating engaging presentations and educational seminars and at ease presenting to large groups. You are a passionate advocate of professional development. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, successfully managing many time-sensitive deadlines simultaneously. As the successful candidate you have exceptional written and verbal communication.
In this senior role, you will participate in our Administrator on-call rotation, which requires occasional weekend and after-hour on-call responsibilities. You will field calls from our after-hour service and staff who need guidance on resolving an after-hours/weekend issue that cannot wait for regular business hours. You will have the authority and support to execute your decisions.
With RN Admissions Nursing responsibilities, you will, on an as-needed basis, be cross-trained as all our RNs are, to conduct a Hospice Admission. From time to time, we experience an influx of referrals and we want to be able to respond to all potential hospice patients with a scheduled Admission appointment. Once trained, you would then on occasion, be called upon to conduct a scheduled Admission out in community, meeting with the patient/family.
You must be at ease relating to a culturally diverse population while being adept at building a rapport with the terminally ill patient and their family/loved ones. You are kind, compassionate, and mission focused. You love being a part of a team making a difference in the community.
§ NYS License and BSN required, Master’s in Nursing or Public Health preferred.
§ Two-Three years’ experience as an RN Educator. A minimum of two years clinical nursing experience in either hospice or hospital-based med/surg nursing, with electronic medical record competence. Admission and end-of-life care experience preferred.
§ Within three years of hire, will sit for and pass the Hospice and Palliative Care Nursing Certification Exam, with additional salary enhancement once achieved.
This full-time benefit-eligible position offers salary based on years of full-time experience, with additional compensation for bi-lingual candidates.
