Our commitment to accountability is demonstrated to those we serve, as well as to those who support our mission, by adherence to standards for the provision of high quality care and that we measure ourselves against those standards. United Hospice of Rockland is proactive in this area as demonstrated through the results of random surveys conducted by the Joint Commission. These rigorous deemed surveys have resulted in UHR receiving accreditation by Joint Commission, Federal approval for continued participation in the Medicare program and licensing by the New York Department of Health. The Joint Commission is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization's commitment to meeting hundreds of performance standards.
Further commitment to quality is the establishment of a comprehensive Performance Improvement Program (PI) at United Hospice of Rockland, Inc. (UHR). It is multi-layered and includes all members of the organization. The Board of Directors is legally required to maintain overall and ultimate responsibility for Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI).
Our PI program monitors, evaluates and maintains oversight of many areas. They include, but are not limited to: HIPAA compliance, the corporate compliance program, risk management, continuous quality improvement projects, development of best practices, complaints, staff satisfaction, family satisfaction and national quality measures. Our annual report (see link above) contains a portion on our Performance Improvement Program. The annual report provides a comprehensive view of our commitment to meeting the needs of our community and those we serve through our various programs.
