Legacy Society
The UHR Legacy
Society honors individuals who, by including Hospice in
their estate plans, are helping to ensure the agency’s
future. Planned giving options include: bequests,
charitable trusts, gifts of appreciated stock and gifts of
retirement funds or life insurance. Tax benefits for you or
your estate can add further incentive for making a planned
gift. Consult your attorney or financial planner (or
contact Lanie Etkind, UHR Director of Development, at
845-634-4974) for more information.
How to
Support Hospice without writing a check
Did you know
that planned giving can enable you to support your favorite
charity without making a dent in your checking account? Do
you think planned giving is just for the “rich guys”?
Consider these simple planned giving techniques:

Make a
gift of appreciated stock. Transfer stock to UHR
and receive a tax deduction for the full market value of
the stock.

Make UHR
the owner or beneficiary (or contingent beneficiary) of
a life insurance policy.

Designate
UHR as the beneficiary of an IRA, 401(k) or other
retirement plan.
-
Name
Hospice in your will as a beneficiary of your estate.
You can designate an amount, a percentage
or a contingent amount for Hospice.

make a bequest to UHR, the following language may be
used:
I give and bequeath to
United Hospice of Rockland, Inc., 11 Stokum Lane,
New City, NY 10956 ____________ (state sum of
dollars, indicate percentage of residue, or describe
securities or property to be bequeathed) to be used
for its general purposes (or indicate a specific
purpose). |
